Bio:

A parentless gutter-rat, Flint spent his formative years in the mean slums of Alnaz. Stealing what he could, fleeing when he was spotted, and fighting when he was caught, he might have lived and died on the streets entirely unnoticed until, when he was twelve, he tried to cut the purse from a passing sage.

Sensing a talent for the Art in this guttersnipe, the sage took him in, cleaned him up, and sent him to the local chapter of the Mage Guild for training. Upon arrival the Guild decided that his self-appointed name of Flint just wouldn’t do for a student of Magery, so they gave him the new name of Colewyn.

Flint stayed with the Mage Guild for almost a year, but his pride and carefully-honed instincts from his life on the streets made it difficult for him to excel in a life of academia. While he was a quick study when it came to physical feats and chicanery, Flint struggled with the self-discipline and repetition necessary to master magic.

Fed up, he escaped one night just shy of his fourteenth birthday. Back on the streets, he was able to use his newfound magical savvy to impress some key members of the Penumbran Society. He worked odd jobs for them, doing his best to stay one step ahead of the Mages who – he was sure – were now after him in the hopes of protecting the secrets he had stolen.

With his quick fingers, keen wit, and knack for talking his way out of sticky situations, Flint has become a valuable (if disposable) asset for the Society. Keeping him leashed with a steady supply of the addictive Dragon Fire, the Society dispatched him on a mission to Granite Hollow, where the taste of adventure and the genesis of a new Brotherhood of the Wolf awakened a new lease on life for Flint…
